If you’ve ever asked yourself questions like:
- “Where should I live?”

- “How do I find a job?”
- “Why can’t I find the folks from my cultural community?”
- “Who can help me?”
- “When will Canada feel like home?”
You might be new to Canada. Welcome! Bienvenue! Canada is a vast space, a beautiful place, and truly a land of opportunity. But if you’re new here, Canada can also be overwhelming, confusing, maybe even a little scary for immigrants.

Help for Immigrants Comes from Community
Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) help new Canadians integrate into their new communities by:
- providing welcome kits for newcomers
- making services easier to access and more accessible to you
- providing mentoring and referral programs to help you solve your problems
LIPs are funded by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. There are 87 LIPs throughout the country, with 7 of them here in eastern Ontario.
