Manufacturing Engineering Technician

The academic requirements for this two-year Ontario College Diploma include:

  • OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced, (C), (U), or (M) level
  • Grade 12 English (C) level or equivalent
  • Applicants with a related certificate or diploma may be eligible to gain direct entry into year two (bridging courses may be required)
  • You can also apply as a mature student

The manufacturing engineering technician diploma offers you experience in mechanical and electrical control skills that lead to jobs in machine shops, manufacturing plants, design workshops and food processing facilities.

Motive Power Technician

Become a motive power technician with a one-year Ontario College Certificate or a two-year Ontario College Diploma. The academic requirements include

  • OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced, (C), (U) or (M) level
  • Grade 12 English (C) level or equivalent
  • You may also apply as a mature student
  • Grade 12 Math is recommended

Training is for the fast-paced automotive field with expertise that can be applied to motive power trades, such as heavy equipment, small engine, marine and truck technician, among others.

  • Troubleshooting and solving problems
  • Taking things apart and putting them back together
  • Knowing how things work
  • Math and have a good background in it

Welding and Fabrication Technician

The welding and fabrication technician program is a one-year Ontario College Certificate and two-year Ontario College Diploma. The academic requirements include

  • OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced, (C), (U) or (M) level
  • Grade 12 English (C) level or equivalent
  • You can also apply as a mature student
  • Welding skills and Grade 11 Math are recommended

You gain skills in welding, fabrication, detailing and millwrighting, and can work in plants where metal fabrication and maintenance are performed.

Electrical Engineering Technician

The electrical engineering technician program is a one-year Ontario College Certificate and a two-year Ontario College Diploma. The academic requirements include

  • OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced, (C), (U) or (M) level, Grade 12 English (C) level or equivalent
  • Grade 11 Math
  • You can also apply as a mature student

You are introduced to electrical principles and building construction wiring.
